About Arusha National Park

Located just a short drive from Arusha town, Arusha National Park is the perfect gateway destination. Despite its small size, it features three distinct landscapes: Mount Meru (Tanzania's second-highest peak), the green Ngurdoto Crater, and the shallow, alkaline Momella Lakes, all framed by views of Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day.

Wildlife of the Arusha National Park — What Animals Will I See?

The park is the best place in northern Tanzania to see the striking black-and-white colobus monkey. Giraffes, zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and leopards are common, but there are no lions and very few elephants. Momella Lakes host thousands of flamingos and waterbirds.

Unique Wilderness & Eco-Tracking

Arusha National Park has a stable resident wildlife population due to its permanent lakes and forested mountains, with no migratory herds.
