Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide and transferred to Arusha. Distance: ~50 km. Driving Time: Approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, check in at Venus Premier Hotel (or similar). Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or take a short orientation walk in Arusha town. In the evening, you will receive a detailed safari briefing. Overnight: Venus Premier Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 1: Arusha National Park (Game Drive & Walking Safari)

After breakfast, depart for Arusha National Park, a scenic and diverse park located close to the city. Distance (Arusha to Park Gate): ~35 km. Driving Time: 45 minutes. Enjoy a full-day exploration including: Game drives through forest, open grasslands, and lakes; Optional walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger; Canoeing (optional) on Momella Lakes. Wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, monkeys, and abundant birdlife. The park also offers stunning views of Mount Meru and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro. After a picnic lunch and afternoon game drive, return to Arusha. Distance (Park to Arusha): ~35 km. Driving Time: 45 minutes. Overnight: Venus Premier Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park. Distance: ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch. Tarangire is known for: Large elephant herds; Ancient baobab trees; Seasonal concentrations of wildlife along the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to Karatu. Distance (Tarangire to Karatu): ~80 km. Driving Time: 1.5–2 hours. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Distance (Karatu to Serengeti – Central): ~240 km. Driving Time: 5–6 hours. Enjoy scenic highland views before entering Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate. Begin a game drive en route to camp, with opportunities to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and more. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the Serengeti plains. Game Drive Distance: ~80–120 km. Your guide will tailor the experience to maximize wildlife sightings. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration. Wildlife includes: Lions, leopards, cheetahs; Elephants and buffalo; Hyenas, jackals, and antelope; Extensive birdlife. Optional: full-day game drive or split morning/afternoon drives. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Karatu)

After breakfast, depart Serengeti with a game drive en route toward Ngorongoro. Distance: ~145–170 km. Driving Time: 3–4 hours. Enjoy your final wildlife sightings before exiting the park. Continue to Karatu for relaxation. Distance (Crater Rim to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Full Experience

After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater and descend approximately 600 meters for a half/full-day game drive. Distance (Karatu to Crater Gate): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30 minutes. Crater Drive Distance: ~50 km. The crater offers one of the best opportunities to see the Big Five, including black rhino, as well as hippos, flamingos, lions, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the crater floor, then ascend in the afternoon and return to Karatu. Distance (Crater to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha / Airport

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Distance (Karatu to Lake Manyara): ~30 km. Driving Time: 45 minutes. Enjoy a morning game drive through diverse habitats including forest, open plains, and lakeshore. Highlights include: Tree-climbing lions; Elephants, giraffes, monkeys; Hippos and abundant birdlife. After lunch, begin your return journey. Distance (Lake Manyara to Arusha): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Distance (Lake Manyara to JRO): ~170 km. Driving Time: 3–3.5 hours. Drop-off in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. End of Safari
