Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

Walk through pine fields and rain forest. Simba camp stay. 3-4 hours.

Day 2: Simba Camp to Second Cave

Trek through heathland with views of Kibo. 3-4 hours.

Day 3: Second Cave to Third Cave

Trek into semi-desert. Acclimatization. 3-4 hours.

Day 4: Third Cave to School Hut

Climb up the saddle. Reach base camp. Early sleep. 4-5 hours.

Day 5: School Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Huts

Summit push via Hans Meyer cave. Uhuru Peak. Long descent to Horombo. 11-15 hours.

Day 6: Horombo Huts to Marangu Gate

Descent through forest, certificates, drive to hotel. 5-6 hours.
