Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide and transferred to Arusha. Distance: ~50 km. Driving Time: Approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, check in at Venus Premier Hotel (or similar). Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the city. In the evening, your guide will provide a detailed safari briefing. Overnight: Venus Premier Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, well known for its large elephant population and iconic baobab trees. Distance (Arusha to Tarangire): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. Tarangire offers excellent wildlife viewing, especially along the Tarangire River where animals gather. In the late afternoon, exit the park and proceed to Karatu. Distance (Tarangire to Karatu): ~80 km. Driving Time: 1.5–2 hours. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Distance (Karatu to Serengeti – Central): ~240 km. Driving Time: 5–6 hours. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands with panoramic views before entering Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate. Begin a game drive en route to camp, spotting wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and antelope. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains. Game Drive Distance: ~80–120 km (depending on wildlife movement). Your guide will adjust the route to maximize sightings. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration. Wildlife includes: Lions, leopards, cheetahs; Elephants and buffalo; Hyenas and jackals; A wide variety of bird species. Optional: full-day game drive with picnic lunch or split drives. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Karatu)

After breakfast, depart Serengeti with a game drive en route toward Ngorongoro. Distance (Serengeti to Ngorongoro / Karatu): ~145–170 km. Driving Time: 3–4 hours. Enjoy your final wildlife sightings before exiting the park. Continue to Karatu for relaxation. Distance (Crater Rim to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Full Experience

After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater and descend approximately 600 meters for a full/half-day game drive. Distance (Karatu to Crater Gate): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30 minutes. Crater Drive Distance: ~50 km. The crater is one of the best places to see the Big Five, including the rare black rhino. You will also see hippos, flamingos, lions, and diverse wildlife in a compact area. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the crater floor near the hippo pool before continuing your game drive. Ascend the crater in the afternoon and return to Karatu. Distance (Crater back to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha / Airport

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Distance (Karatu to Lake Manyara): ~30 km. Driving Time: 45 minutes. Enjoy a morning game drive through lush forest, open plains, and lakeshore areas. Lake Manyara is known for: Tree-climbing lions; Elephants and giraffes; Hippos and monkeys; Rich birdlife, including flamingos. After lunch, begin your return journey. Distance (Lake Manyara to Arusha): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Distance (Lake Manyara to JRO): ~170 km. Driving Time: 3–3.5 hours. You will be dropped off either in Arusha town or at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. End of Safari
