Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide and transferred to Arusha town. Distance: ~50 km. Driving Time: Approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, check in at Venus Premier Hotel (or similar). Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or take a short walk around the city. In the evening, your guide will provide a full safari briefing. Overnight: Venus Premier Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Distance (Arusha to Tarangire): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. Tarangire is rich in wildlife, especially during the dry season when animals gather along the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight. Distance (Tarangire to Karatu): ~80 km. Driving Time: 1.5–2 hours. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 2: Tarangire / Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Distance (Karatu to Serengeti – Central): ~240 km. Driving Time: 5–6 hours. Drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, enjoying breathtaking views before entering the Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate. Begin your game drive en route to camp, with excellent chances to spot wildlife such as lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and antelope. Arrive at camp in the late afternoon. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. Game Drive Distance: Approximately 80–120 km (depending on wildlife movement). Your guide will tailor the route to maximize sightings. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration. Wildlife highlights include: Lions, leopards, cheetahs; Elephants and buffalo; Hyenas, jackals, and various antelope species; Rich birdlife. You may choose a full-day game drive with picnic lunch or split drives (morning and afternoon). Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Crater / Karatu)

After breakfast, depart Serengeti with a game drive en route toward Ngorongoro. Distance (Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim): ~145 km. Driving Time: 3–4 hours. Descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Crater Drive Distance: ~50 km. The crater is home to the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, as well as hippos, flamingos, lions, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the crater floor. After the game drive, ascend the crater and proceed to Karatu for overnight. Distance (Crater Rim to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha / Airport

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, known for its scenic beauty and diverse ecosystems. Distance (Karatu to Lake Manyara): ~30 km. Driving Time: 45 minutes. Enjoy a morning game drive through groundwater forests, open plains, and along the lakeshore. Wildlife may include elephants, giraffes, monkeys, hippos, and a variety of bird species. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions. After the game drive and lunch, begin your return journey. Distance (Lake Manyara to Arusha): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Distance (Lake Manyara to JRO): ~170 km. Driving Time: 3–3.5 hours. You will be dropped off either in Arusha town or at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. End of Safari
