Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide and transferred to Arusha. Distance: ~50 km. Driving Time: Approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, check in at Venus Premier Hotel (or similar). Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or take a short walk around Arusha town. In the evening, your guide will provide a comprehensive safari briefing to prepare you for the days ahead. Overnight: Venus Premier Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Distance (Arusha to Serengeti – Central): ~325 km. Driving Time: 7–8 hours (including scenic stops). Enjoy a beautiful drive through the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Highlands. You will pass through local villages and enjoy panoramic views before entering the Serengeti through Naabi Hill Gate. Upon entering the park, begin your game drive en route to camp, with chances to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. Arrive at camp in the late afternoon. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, set out for a full day of wildlife exploration in the Serengeti. Game Drive Distance: Approximately 80–120 km depending on wildlife movement. Your guide will tailor the day to maximize sightings. The Serengeti is renowned for its large predator population and, depending on the season, the spectacular Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. You may opt for: A full-day game drive with picnic lunch, or morning and afternoon game drives with a break at camp. Expect to encounter: Lions, leopards, and cheetahs; Elephants, buffalo, giraffes; Hyenas, jackals, and a wide variety of birdlife. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation. Overnight: Tukaone Serengeti Camps (Full Board)

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Crater Rim / Karatu)

After breakfast, depart Serengeti with a game drive en route toward Ngorongoro. Distance (Serengeti to Ngorongoro / Karatu): ~145–170 km. Driving Time: 3–4 hours. Enjoy your final wildlife sightings in Serengeti as you exit the park. Arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with optional scenic stops along the way. You will proceed to Karatu town (just outside the crater) for relaxation and overnight. Distance (Crater Rim to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. This day is designed to allow a more relaxed pace before the crater visit the following day. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Tarangire National Park – Return to Arusha / Airport

After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. Distance (Karatu to Crater Gate): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30 minutes. Descend approximately 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive. Crater Drive Distance: ~50 km. The crater offers one of the best opportunities to spot the Big Five, including black rhino, along with hippos, flamingos, lions, and more. After a picnic lunch at the crater floor, ascend and proceed to Tarangire National Park for a short game drive (time permitting depending on flight schedule). Distance (Ngorongoro to Tarangire): ~150 km. Driving Time: 2.5–3 hours. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. After the visit, continue your journey back to Arusha or transfer directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. Distance (Tarangire to Arusha): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Distance (Tarangire to JRO): ~170 km. Driving Time: 3–3.5 hours. End of Safari
