Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide and transferred to Arusha town. Distance: ~50 km. Driving Time: Approximately 1 hour. You will check in at Venus Premier Hotel (or similar), where you can relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore Arusha town or simply enjoy the hotel facilities. A safari briefing will be provided to prepare you for the adventure ahead. Overnight: Venus Premier Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive towards Tarangire National Park, known for its vast elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Distance: ~120 km. Driving Time: 2 to 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. Tarangire offers excellent wildlife viewing, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of bird species. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife year-round, making it a prime game-viewing location. In the late afternoon, exit the park and proceed to Karatu for dinner and overnight. Distance (Park to Karatu): ~80 km. Driving Time: 1.5–2 hours. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater (Game Drive)

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. Distance (Karatu to Crater Rim): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. You will descend approximately 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to a dense population of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), as well as hippos, hyenas, and flamingos. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the crater floor near the hippo pool, followed by more wildlife viewing before ascending back to the rim. Return to Karatu in the late afternoon. Distance (Crater back to Karatu): ~20 km. Driving Time: 30–40 minutes. Overnight: Eileen’s Trees Inn / Octagon Lodge (Full Board)

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha / Airport

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic park famous for its tree-climbing lions, diverse birdlife, and lush groundwater forest. Distance (Karatu to Lake Manyara): ~30 km. Driving Time: 45 minutes. Enjoy a morning game drive in the park. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, monkeys, giraffes, hippos, and a wide variety of bird species along the lake shore. After the game drive and lunch, begin your journey back to Arusha or transfer directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. Distance (Lake Manyara to Arusha): ~120 km. Driving Time: 2–2.5 hours. Distance (Lake Manyara to JRO): ~170 km. Driving Time: 3–3.5 hours. End of Safari
